The beauty of Mohare Danda Trekking is the tranquil surroundings, walking on a dense forest trail amidst lovely rhododendrons and pines. Include oaks, magnolia, and fir trees with exotic vegetation facing alluring views of beautiful landscapes and snow peaks. The other interesting about this short adventure is walking around untouched and unspoiled farm villages. The climb finally reaches Mohare Danda, the highest point of the journey, to enjoy the brilliant sunrise. Best Seasons For Mohare Danda Trekking

The best time and seasons for Mohare Danda Trekking or other adventures in Nepal Himalayas. Spring and Autumn / Fall seasons. 

The spring begins in March and ends in May, a lively time for pleasant walks and scenic views. Most days are fine and clear with enough sunshine hours till late afternoon from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

It can get overcast in the afternoon sometimes, with chances of light rains and snowfalls. Days are much longer with sunlight hours, but cold morning and late afternoon till nighttime. Depending upon altitude and overnight stops en route to Mohare Danda.

Spring is the best time for nature lovers, when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species. 

The next best season is autumn/fall, where most days are bright, with sunny days for clear views. The autumn/fall starts from September to November, one of the high seasons in Nepal for trekking. Days are fine with crystal clear blue sky, but it gets dark soon due to limited sunshine hours. The morning and late afternoon until the nighttime is cold, and chances of light snowfall above 2,500 m high. 

Interested trekkers can also enjoy Mohare Danda treks during the winter time of Christmas and New Year Holidays. Most days are crystal clear with blue sky, but short days, due to limited sunlight hours from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect snowfall sometimes during the walks to Mohare Danda, above 2,000 m high.  

The Routes And Trails To Mohare Danda

Trekkers joining for Mohare Danda or other adventures around Nepal Himalayas must be aware. Nepal is a country of high land of mid-hill to higher mountainous landscapes and terrains. The walk leads up and downhill with a few gradual sections to enjoy. The only flatland is the low sub-tropical Terai belt around southern Nepal.

En routes to Mohare Danda, a high hill, start with steep ups for some hours and a short downhill. From the Galeshwor village onwards to Nangi and Mohare Danda is a steep up for some hours. As well as with a few short and gradual paths on the winding trail to reach designated overnight stops. But once on top of Mohare Danda is the highest spot of the adventure, on achieving the goal and highlights. The return journey is on a pleasant winding downhill to reach the road-head at Tiplyang. 

At the end of the walk, an exciting drive to Beni and towards Pokhara. The walk is mostly on forested paths, with some stone steps near a few settlements. After leaving the main village of Galeshwor, at Mohare Danda, the tree lines drop for a few alpine bushes. The downhill trail with a steep section, but more or less enjoyable walk along with surrounding glorious scenery.

Culture And Religion En Route To Mohare Danda Of Mygdi District

Nepal is a country of great diversity of landscape and people with their age-old religions, cultures, and heritage. The mid-hill people around the Annapurna Himalayas and Mid-West Nepal are the Magar and the Gurung hill tribes. The Gurung are the main inhabitants around the southern hills of the Annapurna Himalayas. But on the west southern hills of Annapurna range, around the district of Mygdi with a high population of Magar tribe. The 3rd largest ethnic tribal group in Nepal, as well as the first large Hill Tribe in the country.

The Magar are predominantly farmers and cattle herders with livestock. The Magar and Gurung menfolk are also famous as Gorkha Soldiers in the Indian, Nepal, and British Army Regiments. 

The Magar people worship both Hindu and Buddhist religions and cultures and celebrate their tribal festivals and events. On this trek en route Mohare Danda and return journey with only a few smaller villages. 

Due to its remote location, from the main motorable roads and major towns. But one can experience the local cultures and farm activities along the walk at Galeshwor village and Nangi. At Khibang, Tikot, and Tiplyang before heading back to Pokhara.

Foods, Accommodation And Lodges Facilities

Food and accommodation are important, besides the best seasons for trekking to Mohare Danda. After staying in a nice tourist standard hotel in Pokhara, the food and lodge accommodations around villages are simple. 

En route to designated overnight stops, the lodge accommodation is nice and small providing a limited food menu to enjoy. In Nepal the favorite and common meal is Nepali Dal Bhat, boiled or steamed rice. It is served with mild seasonal vegetable curry, including Dal, a lentil bean soup with homemade pickles, and hot sauce as options. The food menu lists from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to snack items. Breakfast from oats porridge, and cereals to cornflakes with toast/ chapattis, and pancakes includes a choice of egg variation. Lunch and Dinner with Nepali and Tibetan main course with a choice of soups.

 The most common food for snacks and main course is the Nepali Dal, Bhat with vegetables. Including meat curry where available, mostly buffalo dry meats and fresh chicken are rare sometimes. The most available food besides Dal, Bhat is noodles, fried with vegetables or eggs or noodle soups. Tibetan Bread is made from wheat, millet, or barley flour, sometimes vegetable dumplings are available, and fried or boiled potatoes. Fresh bakery bread is rare around most villages en route to Mohare Danda, but one can order pancakes or chapattis’. 

It goes well with fresh country honey, jams, and pickles or butter to add along with refreshing hot drinks. Like Nepali Tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate where available. The lodge accommodation en route to Mohare and on return treks stay in huts and small cottages. Serving as a homestay, run and managed by the local village community, the rooms are simple, nice, and cozy. 

Have a large dining room with a fireplace to heat the rooms while you enjoy the meals. Attached Bathrooms and Toilets are not available in most places, provide only the common toilets and bathrooms. All lodges and Home Stay huts have electricity for the dining room powered by local hydro or solar power. 

Trekkers can charge electronic items at an extra cost per hour and for each gadget. Internet and Wi-Fi are available, but slow and disturbing in some places due to weather and conditions of landscape terrains.

Physical Fitness And Insurance Requirement

Physical fitness should be average, as this is a short and moderate adventure to Mohare Danda. A high ridge at 3,300 m/10,827 feet, where all types of people can enjoy this trek. Without any problem with the HAS (High Altitude Sickness), the elevation rises slowly and gradually. As well as on staying overnight at certain heights will support acclimatization by the time you reach the highest point.

At Mohare Danda, then walking downhill with few short ups, but losing altitude every hour of walks. This trek can be enjoyed, by all people and age groups and families with young children and the elders. 

But all should be fit and in sound medical health to cope with a few long hours of steep climbs. Including a long stretch of downhill after completing the climb to Mohare Danda, besides fitness level. Medical insurance is a must and important to purchase from your home country to make it easier for some refund if required. Medical Insurance is in case of unfortunate accidents and illness, which needs immediate evacuation by the quickest means of transportation. 

Likewise, Helicopter Service to reach the nearest good hospitals, where all the extra expenses should be bear by clients. To be claimed for reimbursement from your Medical Insurance Company, and for Travel Insurance. 

In case of broken trails or roads with landslides, heavy rains, or deep snow above 2,000 m high. Treks can be delayed or lead to cancellation, with the possibility of being re-routed to another safe destination. In this situation beyond the company's control, a refund is not entertained should be done through your Travel Insurance.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02: In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air) and transfer to hotel by the Phewa Lakeside.

Day 04: Drive to Galeshwor village 1, 170 m 3 hrs and start trek to Bans-Kharka 1, 526 m -03 hours 

Day 05: Trek to Nangi 2, 320 m - 06 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Mohare Danda / Hill at 3,300 m -05 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Ghorepani -06 hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Tadhapani - 04 hrs.

Day 09: Trek to Ghandruk -3 hrs. Drive to Pokhara- 03 hrs.

Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 11: In Kathmandu free day for individual activities with options for tours.
