FAQs

1) Which currency should I take to Nepal?

In Nepal, both US Dollars and Euros are widely accepted. However, it's advisable to convert your money into Nepali Rupees, especially for use in rural areas and for small expenses like meals and tips. You can exchange currency at the Kathmandu airport, at money changers in cities, and withdraw cash from ATMs in major cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara.

2) Is there any other information that would be beneficial for my inaugural journey to Nepal?

Ensure you have your travel plans and necessary documents ready. If you intend to purchase a Nepali visa at the airport, you will need to use an automated machine and respond to a few questions. A one-month visa costs $50, while a three-month visa is $125. Extending your visa will cost $45 for a minimum of 15 days. It is advisable to arrange for your hotel to pick you up from Kathmandu airport. Additionally, remember you are visiting a new country with a different culture, so please dress appropriately. Being open-minded and flexible will help you make the most of your time here.

3) Why do your treks cost more than those offered by some other agencies?

When you book a trek with us, you can be confident that our guides are not only well-trained but also well-supported and fairly compensated. We ensure that our trekking staff receive high-quality clothing and equipment. Additionally, we contribute to the education of their children and provide pensions for our fully qualified guides, which is a rarity among trekking companies in Nepal. Your trekking fees also support our NGO, ‘Empowering Women of Nepal,’ which offers underprivileged women the opportunity to become guides. We provide training and, in some cases, free accommodation, transforming the lives of many Nepali women, some of whom will accompany you on your trek. Furthermore, your fees help ensure that our company has proper insurance, a priority that not all trekking companies in Nepal take seriously.

4) Is it safe to travel alone in Nepal as a women?

Traveling alone is usually quite safe, but as with any destination, it's wise to stay vigilant, particularly after dark.
