When you sign up with Women Adventures, our goal is to arm you with strategies to deal with life’s surprises. Traveling involves the unknown and having to experience the unexpected and although the unexpected can be at moments overwhelming, the beauty of it lies in the fact that, with the benefit of hindsight, it can be enlightening. Below are our five best travel tips and tricks which will ensure you are fully prepared to face anything that your trip is going to throw at you.

Tips to be Comfortable for Long Flights and Walking Around

Carry eye mask and ear plugs while on a plane, bus, train and even in a hotel. Also, wear comfy shoes! The majority of our journeys are trekking-oriented, even in our mid-range Women Adventure tours, and walking is unavoidable even in cities. Please, wear comfortable shoes, preferably not hiking shoes or boots, but shoes that would be good for your kind of feet and that would have support at the ankle. Be sure they’re fitted, comfortable and that they are properly ‘worn-in’ as well.

International Travel Tip: Practice the Local Language

In a strange world, it can be quite useful to know the following phrases and as much as possible, master their usage. It’s also good to know something about the place you are going, even if it’s somewhere in the Nepal, the land of Himalayas. You will therefore have an upper hand and you will also be in a position to harness every single bit of information given to you by your local guide.

Invest in Travel Insurance

In Women Adventures, we consider travel insurance as the most important aspect of your trip, however much you may think you will never use it. We suggest it to everyone that plans to travel with us as it can surely offer full insurance coverage in case of any mishap or undesired circumstances.  At Women Adventures, on request you will get all of our travel insurance needs; however, we strongly suggest that you look around and find the policy that will best fit your needs and your wallet. It is important therefore to understand some aspects of travel insurance policies in order to have the perfect one suitable for the desired needs, preference and other factors. Coverage can be in several parts and each policy offers a different level of coverage for each of the parts. Coverage can include some or all of the following:

  • Trip cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances such as sickness or injury
  • Trip interruption
  • Trip delay
  • Missed connection
  • Medical expense coverage during your trip
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Baggage and personal effects loss
  • Baggage delay

Policies offered on the market offer a large range of coverage, depending on what one may need, and depending on the, prices may, of course, differ. Insurance is not a guarantee for all the cases, however, if you face situation when needing to cancel, having delays, missed connections or interrupted travel, insurance is useful.

Women Adventures Pro tip: Snap a picture of your luggage. If your bag is lost, then certainly a picture will make the process of restoring your travel insurance to run faster than before.

Women Adventure’s Top Flight Tips

While booking for air travel, ensure that you have taken a lot of hours in between the two flights. How much time is more or less a personal choice but at least two hours is beneficial. This comes in handy if your flight is canceled because of a snowstorm or if there is a mechanical problem with your plane.

If your flight is delayed, cancelled or rerouted; or if you miss a connection, do contact with respective airlines which will support you. These applications are indeed a blessing in the way that it’s a lifesaver and stress reliever.

Gather and Forward Memories As Per Your Trip

Google Photos, Instagram is now the main app that we use for uploading and sharing photographs with other Women Adventure, and the guests are provided with the link to the folder with photographs from their trip before the trip begins. It is also possible to make posts in private to your group and contribute to the comments section for the photos that you and others share. That is particularly good news for the lone traveler as at the end of the trip one can have a bunch of good photos of the group as well. The best of all, the pictures that you want to save can be downloaded once you are at home. We love it!

Happy adventuring!
